Misleading words, dishonest manipulative definitions

developing, progressive, racism, discrimination, diversity, liberal

Racism, minority, poverty line, liberals, progressive are ill defined misleading manipulative terms. Their definitions obfuscate, confuse, mislead on purpose. Simple paper and pencil tests can measure the percentage of readers that get a faulty mental representation of the objective facts.

  • Progressive:
suggests that leftist policies are progress. They could as well be disasters, not progress.

  • Poor, poverty line.
People living in “poverty” in the USA or central Europe are very rich. They earn far above good salaries in third world standards. Their standard of living in terms of technological gadgets and health care is incomparably higher than middle class in most countries. The concept of “Relative poverty” causes this confusion, because it is very different from absolute poverty and the International Poverty Line.

        • A person can be poor in a relative term but not in absolute term as the person might be able to meet its basic needs, but it is not able however to enjoy the same standards of living as other people in the same economy are enjoying] Relative poverty is thus a form of social exclusion that can for example effect peoples access to decent housing, education or job opportunities[Wikipedia]

      • Racism

racism (noun)

prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group,

aa

typically one that is a minority or marginalized:

“a program to combat racism”

synonyms:

racial discrimination · racialism · racial prejudice · xenophobia · intolerance · bigotry · chauvinism · fascism · Nazism · anti-Semitism · apartheid

    • the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another:

      “theories of racism”

ORIGIN

early 20th century: from race + -ism.

Prejudice

Prejudice is correct, mostly.

Anti-Racists are prejudiced against prejudice.

Research on Stereotype accuracy shows that prejudice is frequently correct. It has also been shown that humans evolved to be good intuitive statisticians (see below 1 2)

Political Correctness based on junk science

Stereotypes are (mostly) NOT wrong, do NOT cause the stereotyped behaviors like high crime and low school performance. Labels and names are NOT powerful and do NOT cause hardship.

Thus the entire basis of political correctness is moot. Even detractors to political correctness are unaware of Jussim’s debunking work.

    • Diversity means more “minority“. Nigeria needs no diversity, nor the mostly Black sports leagues in the USA.
    • Minority:
Minority is a deceptive word. Minority means Non-White because 10.6% Whites in Detroit,  8.9% Whites in South Africa, 11.5%  Whites in world population do not qualify as minorities (majority-minority). But 51.9% women  are a minority group. Thus Minority means Non-White.

    • Social justice
      • “Racial justice”:  presupposes there is injustice. Excludes possibility that the alleged race differences in outcome are due to racial differences. Certainly distracts from any possibility that there might be injustice towards non-minority whites who are denied jobs and college admissions in favor of lower qualified “minorities”. Claims that that pro-minority bias and anti-white racism are justice.  Disadvantage for whites in college and job admission are “racial justice”
    • hate speech:
      • Fake news

  • Disadvantaged, marginalized, … && “minority

&&&

  • Liberal. The classic meaning of “liberal” does NOT describe the behavior of the politically correct illiberal Left. “Liberal” does connote:
    • Favoring reform, open to new ideas, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; not bound by traditional thinking; broad-minded. synonym: broad-minded1.
    • Someone who has liberal views believes people should have a lot of freedom in deciding how to behave and think [Collins]
  • Civil rights“: according to the constitution, civil rights were not rights. And it fails to mention that it takes away constitutional rights of freedom of assembly from whites. Furthermore, civil rights were, ad hoc, enlarged from rights for Blacks to rights for more and more minorities
  • African American“: A blonde, blue eyed Boer girl, resident in South Africa for 10 generations, is an African American? Or is Elon Musk an African American[3]? A negro who has lived in London, or Barbados for 5 generations is an African American? A Nigerian in the USA is an African American? Or is he an African?
